Is visiting Philadelphia worth it from NYC? ✨

Philadelphia is a quick 2.5 hour train ride from Manhattan. There are direct trains and buses that run to Philly multiple times a day at reasonable prices. Trains can vary between $10-115 per ride (I know, it's a huge difference) depending on which Class you're riding. And then there are buses that are reasonably priced at around $16-30 per ride.

When in Philly, there are a ton of things to do, similarly to NYC. However, it's possible to hit all the touristy things to do in Philly over a weekend.

I find myself visiting Philly at least once a year, considering how close it is to NYC. Philly is definitely a place with a lot of things to do and see but if you're just visiting NYC and don't have time to visit at all, don't beat yourself up. It's fun if you're traveling or visiting a friend, and it may be worth it if you need a break from NYC!

Have you ever visited Philly?!

Philadelphia
2024/12/11 Edited to

... Read moreTraveling from NYC to Philadelphia has become increasingly popular due to the diverse experiences and attractions available in Philly. The journey is typically quick, taking about 2.5 hours by train, and the affordability of transport options makes it accessible for many. The Amtrak service provides a comfortable ride, with prices ranging from $10 to $115, depending on the time and class of service. For budget-conscious travelers, bus services costing between $16 and $35 provide comparable convenience. Once in Philadelphia, visitors can enjoy a rich array of activities that rival many NYC attractions. Historical landmarks like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are must-see sites for new visitors wanting to immerse themselves in America's history. The Reading Terminal Market offers a culinary adventure, showcasing local foods and artisanal finds, making it a great spot for food lovers. Furthermore, the city's vibrant arts scene includes galleries, museums, and unique pop-up shops. While Philadelphia offers an abundance of experiences for a weekend getaway, it’s essential to weigh your options if you’re pressed for time. If your travels mainly revolve around New York City, this short trip may be more accommodating on a slower schedule or when paired with visiting friends or family. However, if you're looking to mix things up while exploring the East Coast, Philly's charm, history, and culinary delights might just make the trip worthwhile. Don't miss out on the chance to explore a city filled with rich cultural history just a train ride away!
