Throughout my whole life, I was never the chosen one,Not by friends or family. Because I see things differently and I feel things differently and I always believe there’s a better way to deal with things. I remember this one friend who I thought was my best friend but it was just me who thought we were best friends. She would always call me for advice whenever she feels down whenever she’s depressed she would call me. But she would never really make time for me or hang out with me, but she would find time for the people she would never call whenever she needed someone. I lost who I was trying to save her, but nevertheless she was able to accomplish everything she never believed in because I stood by her! But when it was all said on done she chose the ones who abandoned. But even though it hurt me I was still happy for her. But then I realized it was time for me to heal and figure out what is it I wanted. And it the process of it all I fell into deep sadness and I had no one but myself! So I truly believe that each one of us was placed on this earth for a reason. It takes time and patience and I am willing to just wait.#lemon8bookclub#ratemyempties#selfcare#iloveyou#lemon8challenge#icare#bookstoread#lemondiary

... Read moreReading this personal journey, it’s clear how challenging it can be to consistently offer kindness and compassion, especially when it feels unreciprocated. Many of us have experienced moments where we pour our heart into a friendship or situation, only to realize that others don't always possess the same 'heart as us,' as that powerful quote beautifully puts it. It can be truly frustrating when our 'kind and caring nature' isn't met with the same thoughtfulness.
This experience often leads us to ponder the very essence of these powerful emotions: kindness, compassion, and empathy. While often used interchangeably, they each offer unique perspectives on how we connect with the world. Kindness, at its core, is about being friendly, generous, and considerate through our actions. It's the gentle word, the helping hand, or the thoughtful gesture. Compassion, on the other hand, delves deeper. It's the emotional response to suffering, coupled with a genuine desire to alleviate it. It often involves empathy – the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. So, while kindness might be the act, compassion is the underlying feeling that drives us to act, fueled by our empathetic understanding.
It’s crucial to remember, as the quote emphasizes, 'don't let it change your kind and caring nature.' This isn't about being naive; it's about protecting your inner peace and integrity. When we spread love without 'expecting anything in return,' we free ourselves from the burden of disappointment. This doesn't mean we become doormats; it means we choose our actions based on our values, not on anticipated outcomes from others.
One key lesson I've learned on my own journey is the importance of self-compassion. Just as we offer understanding to others, we must extend that same grace to ourselves, especially when we feel let down. Healing from unreciprocated kindness involves acknowledging our hurt, processing it, and then consciously choosing to reaffirm our commitment to our own benevolent spirit. It’s about setting healthy boundaries that protect our energy while still allowing our inherent 'kind and caring nature' to shine. Remember, the right people will truly 'appreciate and reciprocate your kindness', but your kindness shouldn't be conditional on their actions. It's a gift you give, first and foremost, to yourself by staying true to who you are. Cultivating this inner strength not only helps us navigate difficult relationships but also solidifies our sense of self-worth, making us resilient and genuinely happy, regardless of external validation. Keep spreading love, because its true power lies in the giving, not the receiving.
