Baby Number 2!

Oh my goodness, it still feels surreal sometimes! Announcing Baby Number 2 for June 2025 has brought such a wave of emotions – pure joy mixed with a healthy dose of 'how are we going to do this?!' It's completely different from preparing for our first, Holden. With him, everything was new and unknown. Now, we have a little guide, our sweet Holden, who's already showing signs of being an amazing big brother, even if he doesn't quite grasp it yet. One of the biggest conversations we've been having is about the timing. While we don't have a specific date yet for Baby Number 2, the thought of them potentially sharing a birthday with Holden is both exciting and a little daunting! Imagine the joint birthday parties! On one hand, it would be incredibly special, a unique bond they'd share forever. On the other hand, we want each child to feel incredibly special and celebrated individually. It's a balance we'll definitely be figuring out if it comes to that. We're already brainstorming ways to make sure both children feel like their special day is truly their own. Preparing Holden for his new role has been a big focus. We've been reading books about big brothers and sisters, letting him 'help' us look at baby clothes, and talking about how much fun it will be to have another little one in the family. He often points to my belly and says 'baby!' which just melts my heart. It's a reminder that this isn't just about us welcoming a second child, but about Holden gaining a lifelong companion. The second pregnancy journey feels different too. This time, I know what to expect (mostly!), but also have a toddler to chase after, which adds a whole new layer of exhaustion! We're trying to be proactive – organizing the nursery early, digging out Holden's old baby gear, and making lists of what we still need. It's a constant juggle, but watching our family grow and evolve is the most rewarding experience. For anyone else expecting their second a few years after their first, or even considering it, my biggest advice is to lean on your support system and be kind to yourself. There will be days of pure bliss and days of absolute chaos. But the love multiplies, and seeing the bond form between your first and second child is something truly magical. We can't wait to introduce you all to our newest little family member – and maybe even share if they end up having a very same day birthday celebration with Holden!
