Old keys can’t unlock new doors.
How many of us live life through consistency just doing the same thing day in and day out? I am guilty of this. I prefer routine because I know what to expect and it’s comfortable. While that is not a bad thing, you have to be careful not to get too complacent in the routine. How will God ever move in your life if you are not allowing change? If your expectations of God is the same? Sometimes we can act like we know how God is going to move because he did it like this before, so he’s going to do it like that again. Well I’m here to tell you, that is not always the case.
Moses shows us the perfect example of this, if you remember back in exodus the Israelites were complaining of being thirsty so the lord told Moses to hit the rock with his staff and out will flow water and when he did that, what the lord said would happen- happened.
Fast forward to numbers. We reached the same scenario, however this time the instruction was different. God told Moses to SPEAK to the rock and the rock will then yield water for the people. However, because Moses hit the rock last time, he disobeyed God and hit it this time even though God specifically gave him CLEAR instructions.
Just because a problem may look identical in your life to a previous problem doesn’t not mean the solution will always be the same. You cannot use old keys to unlock new doors.
You have to allow God to be God and listen to his instruction. Do not live life expecting God to be predictable. The beauty of God is knowing he is going to show up but not knowing how he’s going to show up. If we could predict Gods every move, faith would not be needed. Learn to trust God. Learn to trust his word. God will provide, we know that to be true. However stop expecting it to look like last time. Allow God to blow your mind. ♥️

In life, it’s easy to fall into routines that make us comfortable, but this complacency can limit our growth. When faced with challenges, we often revert to familiar solutions, like Moses did when he struck the rock instead of speaking to it. This teaches us that the same problem doesn't guarantee the same solution. God’s method may vary, and it’s essential to remain receptive to His guidance. Trusting God’s timing and approach can lead to unexpected blessings. Embrace change and be ready for God to reveal new doors you never knew existed. Each moment is an opportunity for growth, and faith challenges us to step beyond familiar patterns. By letting go of preconceived notions about how God works, you open your heart to His extraordinary plans.
