As long as you have Jesus, you have joy.
This morning during my devotional, I read James 1, and let me just say… it clocked my tea (or however the phrase goes, right? 😂).
Right off the bat, verse 2 hits us with this: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” In other words, the Bible is telling us to find joy in the chaos.
Now, if I’m being honest, that’s something I used to really struggle with. How can I find joy in my trials, right? But then, I had a major realization: circumstances don’t determine our joy—Jesus does. As long as I have Jesus, I have joy. Once that truth clicked, everything changed. Life still throws its curveballs, but with this understanding, I can navigate through it all unbothered.
When your joy is anchored in Christ, no storm can take it away. And that, my friends, is how we can truly live in peace—even in the middle of chaos.
