Songs like "Respect" became anthems of the civil rights era, symbolizing the struggle for justice and equality. Her impact extended beyond music; she was a vocal supporter of social issues, advocating for both female empowerment and racial equality. Franklin's legacy is celebrated not only during Black History Month but year-round, as her artistry continues to touch lives and inspire future generations. Engaging with her music offers an opportunity to learn about the struggles and triumphs of the Black community. As we honor her achievements in February, let us also reflect on the ongoing journey toward equality and justice.
