Amor propio

Starting a journey of self-love can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when we base our value on external achievements or opinions. What really helped me was shifting my focus from trying to 'earn' love to remembering that I am already deeply loved. Reflecting on John 3:16, which says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son," reminds us that our worth is not dependent on our perfection or efforts but on unconditional divine love. This perspective creates a peaceful foundation where self-love isn't another task on a to-do list but a natural outcome of recognizing our identity in faith. Throughout these 15 days, small daily reminders helped me pause and challenge my internal critic: instead of comparing or demanding more from myself, I learned to accept who I am in this moment. It’s a gentle process of letting go of burdens like self-exigency, judgment, and the need to prove my worth. One practice that supported me was journaling with affirmations inspired by grace and identity, such as "I am lovingly created and valued beyond measure." This not only eased feelings of insufficiency but encouraged self-compassion. Sharing this journey with a community, where we could comment "I am loved" as a shared affirmation, added a sense of belonging and accountability. If you find yourself struggling with self-worth, try to pause and ask where your value comes from. Is it your performance, comparisons, or external validation? Or can you accept the truth that your worth is established through grace and divine love? This remembrance can transform how you treat yourself and relate to others—inviting peace, acceptance, and deeper love in your everyday life. Remember, self-love is not about perfection but embracing your true self as already loved. Starting this 15-day journey might just be the nurturing step your soul needs to rest and flow with tranquility.
