The horses I rode today

Riding horses daily offers a unique blend of physical exercise, emotional connection, and skill development. Today’s session with Scooby, Moon, and Remi was especially refreshing because I focused on light flatwork combined with some jumping. Flatwork is essential as it helps improve the horse's suppleness, rhythm, and responsiveness, while jumping work builds confidence for both rider and horse. Starting with Scooby around 9am, I warmed up with gentle trots and canters, allowing the horse to loosen up his muscles. Midday, with Moon at 12:30pm, I practiced balance and timing during small jumping exercises, which helped enhance coordination. Finally, at 2pm, my session with Remi involved smooth transitions and maintaining calm focus throughout the ride. Though it wasn’t a busy day with multiple horses, quality over quantity made this experience rewarding. Between light workouts and jumps, I could feel the bond with each horse strengthen.
