TXA administration

From my experience working in emergency medical services, early administration of Tranexamic Acid (TXA) can be a critical factor in saving lives. Key practical tips include avoiding mixing TXA with other medications in the same line and flushing the IV line after administration to prevent any interaction. Also, caution is advised when administering TXA to patients with a history of thromboembolic disease, as it may increase the risk of clotting complications. Hypersensitivity to TXA is a contraindication, so be vigilant for allergic reactions. EMS providers should be trained not only on dosing but also on recognizing which patients will benefit, acting early, and continuing comprehensive trauma care alongside TXA use.
