day 3 of prehab and convincing myself that my body is thanking me for it 🤞🏽🙌🏽
the waiting period honestly messes with my head almost as much as the thought of not being able to do things on my own for a while. so building the muscle now gives me something to focus on, and it means recovery will have more to work with later. it’s not glamorous but it’s necessary, and honestly it feels good to have a plan instead of just waiting around anxious.
wearing my fave @Buffbunny Collection set (size medium) because if i’m gonna sweat i’m doing it in something cute 🎀 outfit is linked on my shopmy, link in bio!
anyone else have surgery coming up or been through an ACL recovery? drop your tips below, i’m taking all the advice i can get 👇🏽 #aclrecovery #aclsurgery #prehab #aclprehab
Starting prehab exercises before ACL surgery can be a game changer for your recovery process. I’ve learned that focusing on muscle strengthening not only prepares your body physically but also helps manage the mental stress that comes with the waiting period before surgery. It’s normal to feel anxious about losing some independence during recovery, but having a structured plan gives you a sense of control and purpose. From personal experience, wearing comfortable and motivating workout gear like my Buffbunny Collection set really helps boost morale during prehab sessions. Small things like that can make a difference. Also, keeping track of progress daily—no matter how small—reminds you that each effort contributes to a stronger recovery foundation. Moreover, prehab should focus on improving knee stability and strength in surrounding muscles like the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves, which makes a huge difference after surgery. Engaging in exercises like leg raises, mini squats, and hamstring curls can be highly beneficial. It's important, however, to follow guidelines given by your physical therapist to avoid further injury. Another tip I’ve found helpful is to stay connected with others going through similar experiences. Sharing tips and encouragement can alleviate the loneliness and frustration that sometimes arise. Whether it's through forums or support groups centered on #aclrecovery and #aclprehab, community support is invaluable. Remember, the road to recovery is not just physical but mental too. Prehab provides a proactive approach that turns waiting time into productive healing time, empowering you to come out stronger once surgery is done.
