Amalfi Coast

Capri was such a unique experience, and in some ways my experience pushed me out of my comfort zone. Since I had previously broken my phone on this trip, I had no way to tell time or communicate with my travel group members. Fortunately, at the end of the day after walking through the maze of the city, I was able to reconnect with my group.

Food:

The food I had was so delicious (spaghetti, pizza, and soup), although it was incredibly expensive. Part of that was due to the fact I was with a group with expensive tastes, but the other part of it is, Capri is a tourist attraction. Restaurants raise their prices because of the fact so many people coming to Capri can afford expensive food.

Shopping:

Most of the clothing shops were designer brands, which obviously I cannot afford. When I went into some of those stores I felt awkward, like I didn’t belong there.

Most of my “shopping” included browsing through the windows of the many gift shops.

View:

There is no question of whether or not Capri is busy: IT IS! But that does not mean the view wasn’t worth the crowd. When arriving on the boat, all you see is a cliff side of colorful pastel houses. The water is so blue and clear you could actually see the bottom. The architecture was beautiful, and I could tell many of the structures were old and detailed with history. If you are prepared for crowded streets, than I highly recommend visiting Capri for its stunning view.
