I hate buying jeans

Buying jeans is the worst because I can literally never find the right size. Mostly because I am 5’8” and so the pants are either not long enough or too big around the middle. Also why are women’s jeans so expensive for not being overly functional? #unfiltered #shopping

... Read moreYou know that feeling when you just dread jean shopping? Seriously, it feels like the worst pants ever sometimes! And let's be honest, for many of us, the skinny jean trend has peaked, and we're left wondering if there's anything else out there that actually feels good and looks good. I totally get the frustration, especially when you're tall like me. It's a constant battle between finding enough length and a waist that doesn't gap or squeeze too tight. My closet is full of blue jeans that just don't hit right. But lately, I've been experimenting, and I've found some game-changers that might help you too! First off, if you're tired of the skinny jean squeeze, you are not alone! For so long, they were the only option, but honestly, they don't flatter every body type, and sitting in them can be so uncomfortable. I've personally moved away from them for everyday wear because I craved more comfort and a less restrictive feel. You might be surprised how liberating it is to try something new! So, what are the alternatives? Don't despair! I've fallen in love with straight-leg jeans. They offer a classic silhouette that’s super versatile. They’re less tapered than skinny jeans but not as wide as true wide-leg pants, making them a great middle ground. I also love how they look with everything from my favorite black sneakers to dressier boots, without that awkward bunching at the ankle. Another style worth exploring is the 'mom' jean or 'boyfriend' jean. These often have a higher waist and a more relaxed fit through the leg, which can be a lifesaver for those of us struggling with waist-to-hip ratios. They give a cool, effortless vibe, and I find them so much more comfortable for daily wear. Imagine, actually sitting down without feeling restricted! For my fellow tall girls: always check the inseam! Some brands now offer 'tall' or 'long' options, which can make all the difference. Don't be afraid to try different rises too. A high-waisted pair can sometimes balance out a longer leg and minimize gaping at the back. I've also had luck ordering online from brands known for their extended sizing – just be sure to read reviews about fit. And about the cost, which was a huge point of my initial shopping frustration! It’s true that good quality jeans can be an investment, but I’ve learned that sometimes paying a bit more for a pair that truly fits and lasts is better than buying multiple cheaper pairs that just sit in the closet. Look for sales, or consider second-hand options for designer denim. You can find some amazing quality for a fraction of the price. Ultimately, finding the right pair of jeans is about what makes you feel good and confident, not about following every trend. Don't let jean shopping be the 'worst pants ever' experience it used to be. Keep trying different styles and sizes, and you'll eventually find your perfect match. Maybe even with some fun striped blue socks peeking out!

Your jeans aren’t the problem… 👖
Let’s be real… wearing the same jeans all week isn’t the problem, but styling them the same way is. 👀 Repeating bottoms doesn’t mean repeating outfits. If you know how to shift proportions, one pair of jeans can look like five different looks without buying anything new. This is how I restyl

the best jeans for fall👖
If you’ve been following me on Lemon8 for the past year, you know how much I post about Levi’s jeans. Their denim is an expensive initial investment, but the pieces are built to last over a decade. I absolutely support having a few staple pairs of jeans that you rotate through seasons for years

One pair of jeans worn multiple ways 🤍
Let’s be real—we all have those "perfect" jeans, but sometimes the outfit still feels… flat. 🫠 If you want to elevate your denim from "just casual" to "intentionally chic," you need a little Style Logic. Here’s my 3-step formula for making any pair of jeans look expensive:

Here are a few fragrances I regret buying and why they didn’t work for me: • Diptyque L’eau Papier – I wanted to love this one, but the rice note just doesn’t sit well on my skin. It smelled amazing and cozy on the test strip, but on my skin it’s not what I was hoping for. • Byredo Gypsy Wate

WHAT STORE HAS THE BEST JEANS??
In my early teen years, my answer to this def would’ve been the jeggings from Hollister. A phase. Then it was anything from American Eagle - part of me stilllll agrees to this. But now, after having gotten married and gained a little weight, I find that GOOD American Eagle jeans are SO hard to find

What I'm Buying!
It takes quite a bit to get me to the mall to do some in-person shopping, but this past long weekend brought the time AND the sales to justify a proper shopping day. Even though I shop in person, I tend not to buy in person since a lot of times it feels a bit impulsive...I live by the 24 hour rule.
