We found renting a car to be the most flexible option, allowing us to spontaneously stop at scenic viewpoints, hidden cafes, and quieter beaches. Just remember to get an International Driving Permit before you go – it's a must! If driving isn't your preference, Jeju also has a pretty reliable public bus system that connects most major tourist spots. Taxis and ride-sharing apps are also available, though they can add up quickly if you're covering long distances. Planning your routes in advance, especially for a packed 3-day trip, can save a lot of time. While Jeju Black Pork BBQ is absolutely a must-try (and trust me, it lives up to the hype and is famous for a reason!), don't forget to dive into the island's incredible seafood scene. Fresh abalone dishes, hairtail fish stew (galchi jorim), and various sashimi platters are abundant. We stumbled upon a small restaurant near the coast that served the most delicious hairtail fish, cooked simply to let its freshness shine. And for a sweet treat, you have to try the local tangerines or Hallabong oranges, especially if you visit in season – they're incredibly juicy and sweet. We even found Jeju-exclusive Starbucks drinks made with local ingredients, which was a fun little discovery and a great souvenir idea! Beyond climbing Seongsan Ilchulbong, which offers breathtaking views and is totally worth the steep hike!, consider exploring some of Jeju's other stunning natural wonders. The island is dotted with beautiful waterfalls like Cheonjeyeon or Jeongbang, each offering a unique natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. For a more relaxed vibe, a stroll along one of Jeju's many beautiful beaches, like Hamdeok or Hyeopjae, is perfect for soaking in the island's serene atmosphere and admiring the clear water. We also heard great things about visiting Hallasan National Park, especially if you're into more challenging hikes, but we decided to save that for another trip since our 3 days were packed with other experiences like our amazing boat ride. Even just driving around the coastal roads offers endless photo opportunities and chances to see the island's unique volcanic landscapes. One practical tip I wish I knew beforehand was to pack layers! Even in warmer months, the weather on Jeju can be quite dynamic, especially with the winds, as we experienced during our boat ride. A light jacket or windbreaker would be a smart addition to your packing list. Also, consider booking popular activities or restaurants in advance, especially during peak season, to avoid disappointment.
