El Poblado itself felt incredibly safe and welcoming for a first-time visitor, especially a solo female traveler like me. The neighborhood’s countless laptop-friendly cafes and interesting shops made it easy to blend work and leisure seamlessly. Antonio's GELATOYCAF quickly became my go-to spot for a sweet break. I also ventured on a day trip to Guatapé, famous for its colorful town and the iconic climb of 740 steps to see the breathtaking view. While the spot is undeniably beautiful, I found it to be quite tourist-heavy. For seasoned travelers seeking authentic experiences, this might feel a bit commercialized, but the panoramic views alone justify the climb. Overall, my Medellín adventure as a solo woman balancing a full-time remote job was inspiring. The city’s blend of greenery, culture, and remote work-friendly environments offers a fantastic destination for digital nomads and solo travelers looking for safety, community, and unique experiences.
