i gave this book 5 stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ love this author

I've been in my *sports romance* era for a minute, and that includes any and all sports! FOOTBALL! SOCCER! F1! TENNIS! ... and now golf?! ⛳🏌️💚

It's no surprise Tessa Bailey took the challenge of making golf sexy, and knocked it out of the park (a hole in one?! lmfao), because she kills it every time. I am such a Tessa fangirl, so I knew I'd be reading this one the second it released. I prioritized it on my TBR, and it did NOT disappoint. TBH Tessa has never let me down.

Wondering what the book is about? Here's the synopsis!

"Wells Whitaker was once golf’s hottest rising star, but lately, all he has to show for his “promising” career is a killer hangover, a collection of broken clubs, and one remaining supporter. No matter how bad he plays, the beautiful, sunny redhead is always on the sidelines. He curses, she cheers. He scowls, she smiles. But when Wells quits in a blaze of glory and his fangirl finally goes home, he knows he made the greatest mistake of his life.

Josephine Doyle believed in the gorgeous, grumpy golfer, even when he didn’t believe in himself. Yet after he throws in the towel, she begins to wonder if her faith was misplaced. Then a determined Wells shows up at her door with a wild proposal: be his new caddy, help him turn his game around, and split the prize money. And considering Josephine’s professional and personal life is in shambles, she could really use the cash…

As they travel together, spending days on the green and nights in neighboring hotel rooms, sparks fly. Before long, they’re inseparable, Wells starts winning again, and Josephine is surprised to find a sweet, thoughtful guy underneath his gruff, growly exterior. This hot man wants to brush her hair, feed her snacks, and take bubble baths together? Is this real life? But Wells is technically her boss and an athlete falling for his fangirl would be ridiculous… right?"

Have you read any Tessa Bailey books? LMK! (Working my way through all her backlog atm)

... Read moreI'm so glad you loved Fangirl Down as much as I did! Tessa Bailey truly has a gift for making even unexpected settings like a golf course absolutely sizzle. If you’re like me and were curious about the 'bailey blaze ass' or 'tessa thrills' vibe, this book delivers on all counts. It's not just a cute sports romance; it’s got that signature Tessa Bailey heat that keeps you turning pages way past your bedtime. What I particularly adored about Fangirl Down was how Tessa Bailey took the classic 'grumpy x sunshine' trope and gave it a fresh, sporty twist. Wells Whitaker, the pro golfer, is the epitome of grumpy – down on his luck, a bit of a mess, and totally resistant to joy. Then there's Josephine Doyle, his biggest fangirl, who suddenly finds herself as his caddy. The dynamic of them traveling together, spending so much time on the green and in neighboring hotel rooms, is just *chef's kiss*. You can practically feel the sparks flying off the pages! It's a testament to Tessa's writing that she can make the intricacies of golf feel exciting and romantic. The tension and banter between them are expertly crafted, building up to some truly steamy moments that fans of her work definitely expect. For anyone searching for 'fangirl down book' or 'fangirl down tessa bailey' reviews and wondering if it lives up to the hype: absolutely, yes! Beyond the steamy scenes, there's a really sweet story of redemption and self-belief. Wells learns to trust again, and Josephine finds her own strength. It's that blend of emotional depth with undeniable chemistry that makes Tessa Bailey a powerhouse in the romance genre. The way she writes male leads who are gruff on the outside but absolute softies for their women? Peak romance, in my opinion! If you're new to Tessa Bailey or just looking for more books that give you those addictive 'tessa thrills' or that 'eroticcc' spark, I highly recommend diving into her backlist. Her books often feature strong, sassy heroines and swoon-worthy heroes. For more sports romance, check out some of her contemporaries like Fix Her Up or Tools of Engagement from the Hot & Hammered series, which have similar vibes of unexpected careers leading to love. Or if you're just craving more of her signature spice and humor, It Happened One Summer and its sequel Hook, Line, and Sinker are fantastic small-town romances that will definitely keep you entertained. She has a magical way of creating scenarios where characters are forced into proximity, leading to explosive chemistry and unforgettable love stories. You'll find yourself laughing, sighing, and maybe even fanning yourself a bit!
