Besides the material excitement of receiving Ang bao, many find joy in the atmosphere of renewal that CNY represents—buying new clothes, cleaning the house for good luck, and participating in age-old customs that honor ancestors and bring blessings for the year ahead. Street interviews often show people eagerly talking about gambling with friends, hoping for better luck, or simply relishing the festive spirit. Overall, the excitement surrounding Chinese New Year encapsulates cultural pride, memory-making, and the anticipation of fresh beginnings. It’s a special time when community and family ties are strengthened, reminding us all of what truly matters during the celebrations.
