So first off the Hero pimple patches are really good and work amazing (better than the stars).
Second the Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor, it has 30 spf and it doesn’t leave a white cast. Too bad the full size is too expensive.
Third, elf Whoa Glow I HATE IT, it’s always peeling and coming off my face no matter how little or other skin products it don’t help and it just comes off. At least it doesn’t leave a white cast and gives a glowy finish.
Forth, elf Holy Hydration face cream a little too thick for my liking definitely for the winter and dryer skin. But still a pretty good moisturizer.
Fifth, the elf sugar scrub is amazing and doesn’t make your lips dryer actually hydrates and nourishes them. Actually removes dry skin and smells and tastes goooood!!
And lastly, Florence whale lip thingy? Leaves a nice tint on the lips and buildable and nourishing, moisturizing, and just great
... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my empties and heard my quick takes, but sometimes you need a little more detail, right? Especially when it comes to figuring out how to get the most out of your beauty products. I've definitely learned a thing or two from trial and error, and I want to share some tips that have helped me!
First up, those amazing blemish patches. The key with these is application! Always make sure your skin is clean and dry before sticking one on. I usually cleanse my face, then apply any serums or treatments, let them fully absorb, and then put the patch directly on the spot. Don't put moisturizer underneath it, or it won't stick properly, and won't be as effective at drawing out impurities. I usually leave them on overnight, and it's always so satisfying to see the gunk it pulls out! It’s truly a game-changer for speeding up healing and preventing me from picking.
Next, let’s talk about sunscreen. This is non-negotiable for me, every single day, rain or shine. My favorite way to apply my hydrating sunscreen like the Fenty Hydra Vizor is as the last step in my skincare routine, right before makeup. If you're using a chemical sunscreen, give it a good 15-20 minutes to absorb before heading outside. And don't forget to reapply throughout the day, especially if you're sweating or spending a lot of time outdoors. A good rule of thumb is about two finger-lengths for your face and neck. I used to think SPF in my makeup was enough, but trust me, it’s not! Layering a dedicated sunscreen makes all the difference for sun protection.
For face creams, like the face cream from elf, the thickness can definitely change how you use it. For a richer, thicker moisturizer, I love using it as my night cream, really letting it sink in while I sleep. During the day, especially if I’m wearing makeup, I go for something lighter or use less of the thicker cream. Always apply it to damp skin right after cleansing or toning to lock in that moisture. And don't forget your neck and décolletage – they need love too!
Now, about that peeling primer, the elf Whoa Glow. I've had issues with primers peeling before, and often it comes down to how much you're using or what's underneath. Sometimes, less is more! A pea-sized amount is usually enough. Also, make sure your previous skincare steps (serums, moisturizer) are fully absorbed and dry before applying primer. If they're still wet, it can cause pilling. Experiment with different application methods – sometimes patting it in gently works better than rubbing.
And for lip care, that lip scrub and lip product are essentials! For the scrub, I use it about 2-3 times a week. Gentle circular motions are key to exfoliate without being too harsh. After scrubbing, I always rinse it off and immediately follow up with a nourishing lip balm or my favorite lip tint to lock in hydration. The Florence whale lip thingy is perfect for this, adding a lovely buildable tint while keeping my lips soft. It's all about consistency to keep those lips plump and hydrated, especially if you're like me and suffer from dry lips often. Don't forget that a good base on your lips makes any lipstick or gloss look so much better!
