Making Dinner Time Easier
How many times a week do you make dinner for your family? We aim for 5 weekly meals, and do takeout two days typically over the weekend. I love cooking, but there’s so much more to dinner than just cooking. It’s planning the grocery list, getting groceries, prepping food, cooking food, crossing your fingers hoping that your kid will actually eat it, and then finding a moment in time to sit down and actually eat yourself.
To make dinner time go as smoothly as possible, I plan meals that require cooking minimal foods that are nutritious and tasty for both my daughter and myself. This allows me to have less clean up, less prep, and less stress overall!
Chicken and veggies over rice is one of my favorite dinners to make. I serve each ingredient separately to my daughter so she isn’t overwhelmed by the food being mixed together. She loves the chicken and rice, and is working on loving zucchini lol. My husband and I eat it mixed together in a bowl, and topped with teriyaki sauce.
Planning meals around foods that both you and your children enjoy can help cut dinner prep time in half! It’s definitely been a game changer for my family.
