Popular booktok book I may DNF??!! 🤷‍♀️

I’m 40% through “Her Soul To Take” and it is just not living up to the hype for me right now. I don’t know if it’s my headspace at the moment or I’m really just not into it but I haven’t read in a week because of this book which is so upsetting I wanted to love this series so much 😭 I think I’m going to bookmark it and try again another time. I have “All The Ugly Wonderful Things” coming in the mail so I think I’m gonna move on to that and fingers crossed I get out of this slump. 🤞

... Read moreMany readers find themselves facing a DNF (Did Not Finish) situation with books that are highly acclaimed. Take 'Her Soul To Take,' which has been generating buzz on platforms like BookTok. Despite its popularity, it may not resonate with everyone, often leading to frustration and reading slumps. These slumps can arise for a variety of reasons: personal circumstances, the genre, or simply the expectations versus reality of a book's content. In contrast, 'All The Ugly Wonderful Things' is making its way into many readers' hands. This novel is lauded for its emotional depth and complex characters, providing a stark contrast for those who might not enjoy the pacing or themes of LaRoux's work. It's crucial for readers to remember they have the option to set aside books that don't engage them. Instead of forcing oneself to read, embracing the DNF can lead to a more satisfying reading journey by allowing time to find stories that truly resonate. Be sure to explore discussions around these experiences on platforms like Lemon8 to connect with fellow book lovers navigating similar paths!
