Being a Biological Mother

No one prepared me for how difficult missing these moments were going to be

No one prepared me for the constant heartache that I was about to endure.

No one prepared me for the lasting imprint this would leave on all parties involved.

No one prepared me to lose the love of my life to an overdose while we were fighting for custody back.

They only told me how selfless it would be.

And how I could give my daughter a better life.

Adoption isn't always the selfless thing to do

I wish I had listened to my gut instinct, rather than being cramped by grief and pain, allowing it to let me lose my way

the best person for your child, is you

and while what's done is done legally,

I am here to speak for those who are on the fence about whether #adoption is the best option

I now truly believe that God chose me to be her Mother for a reason

And I continue to be involved as much as I legally am allowed

I will continue to use this page with the intention to bring awareness around topics relating to adoption, addiction, and recovery.

Follow me for this journey through healing

... Read moreBeing a biological mother in the context of adoption often involves a complex and deeply emotional experience that goes beyond what many expect. The reality of missing vital moments in a child's life, enduring constant heartache, and the lasting impact on everyone involved can be overwhelming. This journey is uniquely personal, filled with moments of grief, love, and difficult choices. Addiction and custody struggles add a challenging layer to this experience. Losing a loved one to overdose while fighting for custody represents the harsh realities some biological mothers face. It's important to acknowledge that while adoption is often portrayed as a selfless act intended to offer the best life for the child, it isn't always straightforward or easy. For many, there can be feelings of loss, regret, and confusion about the path chosen. Listening to instinct and trusting oneself as the child's best advocate is crucial. Despite the legal finality of adoption, many biological mothers continue to seek ways to be present and involved in their children's lives within the boundaries allowed. This ongoing involvement can provide a continued bond, healing, and hope. Awareness around adoption trauma, addiction, and recovery is vital in fostering understanding and support for biological families. Sharing stories and journeys like these can bring light to struggles that are often hidden, offering comfort to others facing similar situations and encouraging open, compassionate conversations. If you find yourself on the fence about adoption or coping with the aftermath, know that your feelings are valid. Seeking help from support groups, counselors, or communities that focus on adoption and addiction recovery can provide guidance and healing. Remember, the best person for your child is often you, and your ongoing love and involvement matter deeply, even if it looks different than what you originally envisioned.

TRANS RIGHTS ≠ EVERYTHING ASKING FOR YOUR BIOLOGICAL GENDER IS DISCRIMINATORY
I recently saw a post saying that on forms (like shown above) need to have an option for nonbinary/ trans people. But the thing is that on medical forms, if it’s asking for your BIOLOGICAL gender, there shouldn’t be a nonbinary option. When you are born you are assigned a gender, even if you decide
