They make fantastic watchdogs, always ready to alert you to anything out of the ordinary, even if it's just the mailman. This strong protective instinct, coupled with their intelligence, means early socialization and training are key to harnessing their best qualities. They need mental stimulation as much as physical exercise to prevent boredom-induced mischief (like, you know, redesigning your window treatments!). When people ask about schnauzers, they often wonder about the different sizes. There are three main types: Miniature, Standard, and Giant. Each has its own charm! Miniature Schnauzers: These are the most popular, and often what people think of first. They are smaller, typically 12-14 inches tall, and weigh 11-20 pounds.
