Three years ago today
Three years ago today—August 17—I took one of the biggest leaps of faith of my life.
I walked away from a job and position I loved, a community I loved, and people who meant so much to me. I truly believed it was what Jehovah was directing me to do, so I obeyed—even though I couldn’t see what was waiting for me on the other side.
I thought another job or position would quickly take its place.
It didn’t.
There were moments when I felt a little like Abraham and Sarah must have felt when Jehovah asked them to leave what was familiar and go where He directed them. They didn’t have the entire roadmap. They simply had to trust Him enough to take the next step.
Those first steps were painful. The years that followed required more endurance than I ever expected. There were disappointments, uncertainty, tears, and probably a thousand moments when I wanted to quit.
But today, three years later, I can look back with so much gratitude.
Jehovah didn’t replace what I left in the way I expected. Instead, He helped me build something I never could have envisioned at the time—a viable business that allows me to use my experiences, education, and heart to serve others in a completely different way.
And I learned something I hope someone else needs to hear today:
Faith isn’t always knowing where you’re going. Sometimes it’s being willing to take the next step because you trust the One directing you.
And endurance isn’t glamorous. Sometimes it’s simply getting up one more time when you’re tired, discouraged, and wondering if anything you’re doing is working.
Then one day you look back and realize how far you’ve come.
I also want to thank the beautiful people who believed in me when I was starting over—those who stayed, supported me, encouraged me, trusted me, and are amazingly still with me today. You know who you are. ❤️ I truly would not be here without you.
Most of all, thank you, Jehovah. 🙏🏼
I couldn’t see what was ahead three years ago.
I’m grateful I trusted You enough to go anyway.
Today I’m not just celebrating a business. I’m celebrating faith, endurance, obedience, and the courage to keep going when I couldn’t yet see the outcome. 🦋💕
Reflecting on taking a leap of faith myself, I relate deeply to the feelings of uncertainty and hope described in this story. Starting over, especially when it means leaving something familiar and beloved, is never easy. It often involves moments filled with doubt, fear, and the temptation to give up. However, what stands out in this narrative is the importance of trust—not necessarily knowing what lies ahead, but having faith in the guidance and purpose behind the decision. In my own experience, building something new required an immense amount of endurance, much like the author’s journey. There were days when progress seemed invisible, and setbacks felt crushing. But by persevering, I gradually saw small wins that fueled my motivation to keep going. That patience and daily commitment to rise again, even when discouraged, form the backbone of lasting success. Another key takeaway is the vital role of community and support systems. The encouragement and belief from others can act as a lifeline during challenging transitions. Just as the author was grateful for those who stood by her, having mentors, friends, or colleagues who uplift you can create an environment where you feel empowered to tackle obstacles. Lastly, faith isn’t always about immediate rewards; rather, it’s about wholeheartedly embracing the unknown and trusting the process. This mindset can transform fear into courage and uncertainty into opportunity. Whether one's journey involves spiritual beliefs or personal values, the principle of moving forward with trust and resilience is universally applicable. For anyone considering a significant change or facing uncertainty, this story serves as a potent reminder: trust your inner guidance and the support around you, be patient with your growth, and embrace the journey with enduring faith.
