Does anyone else find Emily annoying?

Seriously, I wanted to love the show, the fashion, the Parisian backdrop – all of it! But Emily Cooper herself? She's the one thing that often makes it hard to keep watching. Let's break it down. Her professional life is another point of contention. She's supposed to be a marketing genius, yet her ideas often seem incredibly simplistic or culturally insensitive. How does someone with such a basic understanding of French culture and language consistently land major clients and solve complex marketing problems? It stretches credulity and makes her 'wins' feel unearned, further contributing to the 'annoying' factor. And let's talk about her relationships, both platonic and romantic. She often seems to stumble into friendships and love triangles without much consideration for the feelings of others. While the show is meant to be a lighthearted fantasy, a truly compelling main character needs some depth, some flaws they actively work on, and a sense of earned success. Emily, unfortunately, often feels like a caricature rather than a fully realized person. If a different actor played her, as the original post suggested, maybe the portrayal would have been different, but the writing for Emily Cooper still presents a character who, for many of us, is simply insufferable.
