I tried to act normal in front of my crush… But failed...😭
Honestly, I had one of the most awkward moments with my school crush recently. :\
So basically, his tablemate noticed I was looking at him a lot times, she (purposely?) talked so loudly that I was looking at him a lot of times and pointed in my direction while talking to him… and I was literally the only one there.
I just knew it was about me and wanted to disappear on the spot.
And it didn’t end there.
Later that day, we somehow ended up on the same bus, got off at the same stop, and even walked towards the MRT almost at the same time.
I was literally in front of him and I got so nervous I ended up walking way too fast just to get out of sight. 💀
I also sent him an Instagram request like 2 weeks ago… and it’s still pending.
I know that he is active coz he just removed some followers on his Instagram.
Sometimes, I wondered why not just reject my request instead of giving me false hope.😭 ( I am also delulu)
Now I still see him around school every day, and it’s not awkward in a bad way… just me overthinking everything on my side. 😭
... Read moreHaving gone through similar experiences myself, I totally relate to the mix of excitement and nervousness that comes with having a crush at school. Sometimes, even the smallest interaction can feel magnified, like when someone else notices you staring and suddenly it's the most embarrassing moment ever. It’s natural to overthink every glance and gesture, wondering if they mean something more or if you're just imagining it all.
One thing I learned is that it’s okay to feel awkward. Most people who have had a crush at school can identify with moments like trying to act normal but failing spectacularly. For instance, accidentally walking much faster just to avoid making eye contact is something I’ve done more than once! This jitterness often comes from wanting to make a good impression but being overwhelmed by the emotions involved.
About social media, sending a follow or friend request and having it left pending can stir up a lot of questions. It’s easy to wonder if it's being ignored, forgotten, or maybe even a sign of interest. But often, it might just be that the other person is careful with who they accept or they haven’t checked their notifications yet. It’s important not to jump to conclusions or take it personally.
Overthinking is a common trap: replaying moments in your head, interpreting every detail, and imagining outcomes. What helps me is to focus on being myself, enjoying small friendly interactions, and not putting too much pressure on the situation. It’s normal for these moments to be unpredictable and sometimes embarrassing – they are part of growing and learning about relationships.
If you find yourself in similar situations, try to laugh at the awkwardness and remember that everyone feels this way sometimes. Over time, these moments become funny stories and memories that you cherish, even if right now they feel nerve-wracking. Just be kind to yourself and take small steps to build your confidence around your crush.
