OOTD + about me!
yay my first post on here :D i guess i should introduce myself!
my name is helix! usually i'm just a snail vtuber and digital artist, but this seems like a good place to share my outfits and maybe other IRL stuff :)
i offically reverted to islam in may 2024, alhamdulillah, and it took about 4 years to finally make that decision! for a long time i've been in love with modest fashion, and thats actually what got me interested in islam at first! i was researching "can i wear a hijab if im not muslim?" but ended up learning more about the religion itself, and it all made sense to me 💕
now, i know this is controversial in islam, but i'm also a trans man and use he/him pronouns! this identity has always felt the most natural to me, and calling myself a girl makes me feel like i'm pretending to be someone i'm not. i still prefer to wear a hijab because it makes me feel comfortable and closer to Allah, but that's my own personal decision.
alright i think thats all for now :)
Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and faith can be deeply transformative, especially when intertwined with personal identity and style. Modest fashion, which emphasizes elegance and humility, not only serves as a clothing choice but also fosters a meaningful connection to faith and culture. For many, including those who have recently embraced Islam, modest fashion offers a way to express spirituality while maintaining comfort and authenticity. Wearing the hijab, a serene symbol of modesty, goes beyond just clothing—it's often a personal decision that instills spiritual closeness and confidence. It's important to recognize the diversity within the Muslim community, including individuals who, like me, are trans men embracing their gender identity while honoring their faith by wearing a hijab. This highlights the beautiful complexity and inclusivity present in modern interpretations of Islam. Additionally, the conversation around gender and clothing in Islamic contexts is evolving, encouraging more people to share their stories and reshape cultural norms. Modest fashion blogs and platforms like Lemon8 provide a supportive space to explore these intersections, showcasing outfit ideas that blend tradition with personal style. For those interested in modest fashion or navigating their own identity journey, consider exploring different styles, fabrics, and colors that align with both your spiritual beliefs and personal comfort. Experimenting with layering, accessories, and niqab options can also add versatility and expression to your wardrobe. Ultimately, embracing your OOTD is more than just a fashion statement; it’s about owning your story and finding peace in your choices, both sartorial and spiritual. Connecting with communities online can inspire and empower you on this path.
