Every relationship matters…
some will test you, some will support you…
but every single one will shape you.
Some will stretch your faith,
others will expose your weaknesses,
and a few will remind you who God called you to be.
Not everyone is assigned to stay—
but everyone is assigned to grow you.
Protect your circle, move with purpose,
and don’t let the wrong voices drown out God’s direction.
Choose relationships that sharpen your calling, not silence it.
In my experience, the people we surround ourselves with have an immense impact on our personal growth and spiritual journey. I have found that relationships are like reflectors, showing us parts of ourselves we might not see otherwise. Some relationships have tested my faith deeply, pushing me to reconsider and reinforce my beliefs, while others provided unwavering support that helped me stay grounded during tough times. It's crucial to recognize which connections add value and which ones drain your spirit or cloud your purpose. For instance, I once followed voices—both in person and online—that seemed uplifting but eventually distracted me from my true calling. The quote, "Every relationship in your life is either sharpening you... or dulling you - and yes, that includes who you follow online," resonates strongly with me. It reminded me to curate my social circle and digital influences carefully to ensure they align with God’s direction for my life. Setting boundaries with people who unintentionally expose weaknesses without constructive support has been one of the hardest but most rewarding lessons. Protecting your inner circle doesn’t mean shutting others out; it means creating space for growth and purpose-driven connections. Each interaction I’ve had, whether positive or challenging, contributed to my growth and helped me understand who I am called to be. Ultimately, relationships should inspire us to be better, not silence our unique voice or potential. Moving with purpose means actively choosing those who encourage your faith, challenge you to grow, and remind you of your unique role in the world.
