My toxic trait as an Executive Assistant is…

Purposefully not wearing makeup on certain days, so people don’t expect too much from me.

As an Executive Assistant, it’s important to look put together as you’re the representative of an exec.

However, when you have full makeup, lashes on, and a cute outfit & heels, halo effect kicks in. People believe you’re perfect organized, ready to help & can handle anything they throw at you.

My to do list gets overtaken with “quick favors” and little side quests — like ordering cupcakes for someone’s work anniversary or helping pay a subteam’s invoice with my corporate card.

However, I noticed when I’m bare faced, people assume I must be swamped & busy. They’re more likely to hesitate in asking me for a help and self-solve.

This is your reminder that being a yes woman isn’t sustainable and you do not need to feel pressured to help everyone all the time. What’s your corporate toxic trait?
