✨ 2024: A Year of Ups and Downs, Lessons and Bless

This year was filled with challenges, growth, and countless memories. There were moments that tested me, but they reminded me of what truly matters: family, friends, and love. 💕

As 2024 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the highs and the lows. Through it all, I’m so grateful for:

• The love and support of my family 🫶

• The lessons I’ve learned and the growth I’ve experienced 🌱

No matter what the year throws at me, as long as I have my loved ones, it’s always a good year. 💫

🌟 Here’s to a fresh start in 2025, filled with love, light, and gratitude! 🌟

... Read moreAs this "2024 season comes to an end," I’m looking back not just at the big picture, but really doing a deep "scan" of all the "lessons in love" that unfolded. It wasn't always easy, and honestly, some moments felt like I was navigating a maze blindfolded. But looking back, each twist and turn taught me something profound about what it means to truly love and be loved. One of the biggest "lessons in love" this year was about boundaries, both for myself and in my relationships. There were times I spread myself too thin, saying yes when my heart screamed no. This led to moments of feeling drained, but also to a crucial realization: loving others deeply also means loving and protecting my own energy. I learned that setting healthy boundaries isn't selfish; it's a profound act of self-love that ultimately allows me to show up more authentically and generously for the people I care about. It was a tough lesson, learned through some uncomfortable conversations and a few moments of disappointment, but it was absolutely essential. Then there were the "lessons in love" from my friendships. You know those friends who just get you, even when you don't say much? This year, they proved to be my anchors. There was a particular challenge I faced, and honestly, I wanted to retreat into my shell. But instead, my friends gently pulled me out, not by forcing me to talk, but by simply being present. They showed up with coffee, listened without judgment, and reminded me of my strength when I felt weakest. Their unwavering support taught me that love isn't just grand gestures; it's the quiet, consistent presence that says, 'I'm here.' It made me re-evaluate how I show up for them too, inspiring me to be an even more attentive and supportive friend. Family, of course, was another huge source of "lessons in love." Through all the highs and lows, their love remained a constant. I learned the importance of patience and forgiveness, especially when opinions differed or misunderstandings arose. It’s easy to love when everything is smooth sailing, but true love, I realized, is tested and strengthened during the storms. We had a moment where communication broke down, and it felt really heavy. But the process of working through it, of actively listening and trying to understand each other’s perspectives, only deepened our bond. It taught me that love isn't about perfection; it's about persistent effort and a willingness to repair. My "scan" of these "lessons in love" also included a look at how I practice gratitude. It's one thing to say you're grateful, it's another to truly feel it and let it shape your perspective. I started a gratitude journal midway through the year, and that simple practice transformed my outlook. Even on days when things felt overwhelming, jotting down three small things I was grateful for – a warm cup of tea, a sunny patch of light, a kind word – shifted my focus. It taught me that love, in its broadest sense, is everywhere, if you just take the time to notice and appreciate it. This process wasn't just about listing things; it was about internalizing the feeling of abundance and connection. Looking ahead to 2025, these "lessons in love" aren't just memories; they're foundational blocks. I'm carrying them forward, aiming to be more intentional with my boundaries, more present with my friends, more patient with my family, and more consistent with my self-care and gratitude practices. This comprehensive "scan" of my year has truly prepared me for whatever comes next. It reminds me that growth isn't linear, but every challenge brings a blessing, and every interaction, an opportunity to learn more about the incredible power of love. Here's to applying all these wonderful lessons in the year to come!
