Jeju Food diaries- What I eat in Jeju East
1. Yeomjeonui Bom Seongsan IIchulbong - Shio Pan was ok. They uses Pink Salt. Quite oily though.
2. Myeogjin Abalone- Great meal. No wonder this was highly recommended. Love the Ocean View too. Abalone sashimi was hard and fishy and the grilled ones was soft and tasty.
3. Orrrn- Pastries almost sold out when I got there at 3pm. Can see why they are popular. Great view of Seongsan Ilchulbong.
During my food exploration in Jeju, I found that trying local specialties truly enhanced my appreciation of the island’s culinary culture. For instance, the grilled abalone was a revelation—soft and flavorful compared to the sashimi, which was a bit tougher and had a stronger fishy taste. When looking for the best eats, timing can be crucial; by 3 PM, some of the pastries at Orrrn were nearly sold out, highlighting their popularity among both tourists and locals. If you want to explore beyond these spots, consider visiting bakeries like Sister Field Bakery in Jeju, known for their delightful pastries and cozy atmosphere. Don't miss out on Jeju’s famous ara steamed buns, which are often praised for their fluffy texture and savory fillings. Additionally, the island's oysters are a must-try for seafood lovers craving fresh, local flavors. Food on Jeju Island reflects the rich culture and natural bounty of the region, so be adventurous and try a variety of dishes to get the full experience. Whether it’s a casual snack or a full meal, Jeju offers a remarkable blend of taste and scenery that I highly recommend discovering for yourself.
