We learned when I was pregnant with the quads our chance of divorcing was higher, and we did go through a hard period after they came home from the Nicu. But we worked hard and took rare opportunities for time away just the two of us. Now we’re at 19 years and counting ❤️ #highschoolsweethearts

... Read moreRaising quadruplets is an extraordinary challenge that can put incredible strain on any marriage. When our babies were in the NICU, the emotional and physical stress felt overwhelming. It’s no secret that parents of multiples face higher risks of relationship difficulties, but we found that intentional effort made all the difference. One crucial factor in our survival was prioritizing time together as a couple, even if only brief and infrequent. Those moments away from the demands of parenting allowed us to reconnect and remember why we fell in love. Trust and communication became our anchors during turbulent seasons. Another element was supporting one another without judgment. Exhaustion often made emotions raw, but openly expressing frustrations and fears helped us avoid misunderstandings. We learned to celebrate every small victory, from NICU milestones to first steps at home. I also found sharing experiences with other parents of multiples provided valuable perspective and encouragement. Understanding that we were not alone in our struggles helped normalize our feelings and strengthened our resolve. While the odds of divorce may statistically rise with such challenges, our story shows that dedication, empathy, and nurturing the marriage foundation can lead to 19 years and counting of partnership and love. Looking back, the way he looked at me on our wedding day remains a beacon of hope and commitment, reminding me daily that with teamwork and love, we can overcome even the toughest trials.
