Fiance planned a surprise birthday trip!
It’s the first time in our seven-year relationship that he’s actually planned a surprise overseas trip for me… without telling me where we were going! 🤓✈️
He booked the tickets just after midnight yesterday and only told me then — less than 24 hours’ notice! 🤣 It was so thrilling!
We flew with Emirates, and I only found out our destination at the airport. The only clues he gave me were:
• “We’re going somewhere hot.”
• “There are big shopping malls.”
At that point, I already kinda guessed it was Dubai hahaha!! But he refused to confirm just to keep the excitement going. 🥰
After flying with Emirates, though, I still feel Singapore Airlines wins hands down in terms of service and warmth. The stewardess serving my aisle was all smiles and chatty with the angmoh passengers, but her tone completely changed with us Asians. 😕
Is this a common experience? Because I noticed a similar vibe in Dubai too … the locals didn’t seem particularly friendly towards Asians.
