When I started my journey, I was a size 14 and honestly, feeling quite discouraged. It felt like an uphill battle, but I was determined to get to a size 8. It wasn't just about the number on the scale or the tag on my clothes; it was about feeling confident, energetic, and truly comfortable in my own skin again. I want to share exactly what helped me make that incredible shift, hoping it sparks some motivation for you too! One of the absolute game-changers for me was consistently hitting my steps. Seriously, 10,000 steps a day is a MUST! It sounds like a lot at first, but I broke it down. I started with a 2-mile walk in the morning to kick off my day, which also helped clear my head and get some fresh air. Throughout the rest of the day, I'd take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away from store entrances, and even walk around my house or office during phone calls. Keeping my body moving consistently, even with small bursts of activity, made a huge difference. And yes, leg days be like this!!!! – intense, but so rewarding for building muscle and boosting metabolism! Don't underestimate the power of consistent movement, whether it's running, walking, or just incorporating more daily activities. Of course, you can't out-exercise a poor diet. My biggest focus became a calorie deficit, and I quickly learned that being 100% consistent was absolutely key. I tracked everything I ate, not in an obsessive way, but to truly understand what was going into my body and where I could make smarter choices. Pairing that with a high protein intake helped me feel full longer and supported my muscle recovery from all the activity. I focused on lean meats, eggs, Greek yogurt, and protein shakes. It wasn't about deprivation, but rather making mindful, healthy choices that nourished my body. Beyond diet and exercise, I incorporated a few other things that truly supported my journey. I made sure to take my daily supplements. While they aren't a magic pill, they filled in nutritional gaps and supported my overall well-being. Another thing that might surprise you? I started to wear a FAJA/tummy control undergarment 3-4x a week for 8 hours. It wasn't about instant slimness in the long run, but it really helped to contour my body shape and gave me an amazing confidence boost, reminding me of my goals. It also helped with posture! The journey had its ups and downs, but setting little challenges for myself, like a 7 Day Challenge, kept me motivated and accountable. It's truly about consistent effort and finding what works for your body. Seeing myself go from a size 14 to a size 8 has been one of my proudest achievements. If you're looking to make a similar transformation, remember that consistency is your best friend. Start small, track your progress, and celebrate every single win along the way. You've got this!
