WEDDING 💍 | Our ultimate wedding venue❣️✨

R and I visited 9 different hotels before we make the final decision 🤪

Some homework you need to do before you reach out to the venues for availability:

1) Potential dates for your AD

2) Expected guests count

3) Preference for lunch or dinner event

4) Solemnisation at venue?

5) Budget

And I can’t stress enough how important the on-site visit is!!! 💢 Yes you get to see the venues irl, but more importantly, you get to interact with the hotel coordinator/manager to see if yall can vibe with him/her. (You’ll have to liaise and coordinate with this person for the next 1 year 🤣) Most hotel managers were very nice and friendly (don’t be scared if they ask if you would like to order a drink while they explained their package, it’s FOC 😂) but there were 1 or 2 that were either super unfriendly or really, I just can’t deal with them (We met one who kept questioning our every preference) 😤

Anyway back to the main topic.

We visited MO during their wedding show weekend and we were SOLD!!! (Ok maybe just R at that point of time, I was still clinching to my dream of having full ceiling to floor windows ballroom 😅) We got to do some food tasting, see some samples of the wedding invitations cards and favours, the bridal suite and the tables placement in the ballroom. Tbh maybe a bit biased because we got to see everything from MO, but no regrets really!!! 💖

✅✅✅:

1) I was v v v sold because of the toilet 😅 I mean…I want my guests to have the most memorable wedding ever, that includes their toilet breaks 🤣 Y’know it’s ✨when the hotel toilet provides heated toilet bowls, hand towels and lotion. The aesthetics of the toilet 💯

2) Unique ballroom layout 🤩 We had the Oriental Ballroom for our dinner banquet; it’s a fan-shaped layout with big and long LED screen! We chose to walk in from the reception area side for a longer walkway 🥳 One con though, guests sitting at the other end won’t be able to see the march in clearly. But you can always ask them to move closer to the aisle if they’d like, there’s quite a lot of space in between the tables.

3) Spacious reception area!! 💖 We had plans for a photo gallery and photobooth, so a big reception area is essential! I like that the area had no hidden corners, so visibility of everyone and everything was great.

4) Makeup/holding room right beside the ballroom!! 🥰 I love this concept, it makes your changing time so convenient and time-saving. We placed our 2nd march-in outfits there and my MUA, who was there for my change of style, waited there comfortably as well. It is probably the only hotel we’ve visited that has a holding room 💯 And it’s not just a small room!! There’s ample space for you to get more help to change your outfits 😉

5) Great view at the Solemnisation room 😍 It’s a simple room, but with SG’s city skyline in the background ✨ Adding that extra oomph to your solemnisation room! Something different from other hotels as well; their solemnisation rooms either felt very confined or there were restrictions like you can’t remove their historic photos on the wall 🫠

6) Food was so so so so goooood ❤️ I mean just ask around, MO has one of the best banquet food!!! And they really took in every feedback we have during tne food tasting; even things like changing the presentation of the food to make it brighter 🤣 We opted for the individual plating set, which only has 6 courses, but honestly it’s really filling. The portions are bigger too. Pro tip: ask the hotel manager if you could choose certain selection from the other set menu as well 😜 You have to get the BAKED COD FISH WITH HOMEMADE SAUCE 💕 All of our guests were raving about it!!!

7) Upgraded our bridal suite!! 🥰 We were honestly surprised at the bridal suite they gave us (so much bigger than the one we saw during the wedding fair). There was a living area, mini kitchen and 2 toilets, which was abit like a maze 🤣 Our whole bridal party of 12 pax could chill in the room together!

8) Our hotel manager was amazinggg. She’s quiet but she gets the work done 🤓 She has never hard-sell us and pressure us to make any payment 😅 Tbh she’s the most assurance wedding vendor we’ve worked with!

9) Great service by the banquet managers! 💯 The banquet manager noticed that one of the kids wasn’t eating the banquet food, so he just whipped out a plate of fried rice for him 🥹 FOC guys…you know how expensive a set is, even for kids meal at a banquet. And he really had control over the whole banquet, making sure he gets our march-in cues right and guiding us on what’s coming next to prep us 🥰

10) Very competitive package 😆 For a reputable 5-star hotel, I was really surprised at the cost and add-ons/freebies they were giving. Not forgetting they were newly renovated!! So best value for moneyyy 🤑

(For package details, please check in with MO for a more updated version!)

... Read moreChoosing a wedding venue can feel overwhelming, but based on my experience, I’d suggest paying close attention to the little details that impact guest comfort and your overall day flow. Besides confirming availability and guest numbers, think about logistics such as whether there’s an ideal room for makeup and outfit changes nearby. It really helps reduce stress on the day when your bridal suite is spacious and well-equipped. Always interact with the venue coordinator or manager during your site visit—not just to get a feel for the space, but to see how well you connect. A cooperative, understanding point of contact makes the planning journey smoother. I still remember one venue where the manager kept questioning our preferences, which added unnecessary stress. Consider the layout of the ballroom closely. We loved the fan-shaped orientation with a long LED screen, but it did mean some guests couldn’t see the march-in clearly from the far end. However, spacing and seating arrangements can help with that. Food tasting is also a must-do! Our hotel took feedback seriously, even tweaking presentations to brighten the dishes. Guests still remember the baked cod fish with homemade sauce — so don’t hesitate to ask about customizing your menu. Another tip: check out the restrooms! It may sound odd, but clean, heated toilets with nice amenities left a lasting positive impression on us and our guests. Lastly, value for money matters—especially when it’s a reputable 5-star hotel that offers competitive packages and thoughtful freebies without pressuring you. That combination made us feel confident in our choice. I hope this personal insight helps couples searching for their ideal wedding venue. Doing thorough research and trusting your instincts will make the planning more enjoyable and your big day unforgettable!
