Our Casual & Intimate 30k Wedding Breakdown

The final calculation of how much we spent for our wedding is here! We went a little above budget, but seeing how beautiful everything turned out, it was totally worth it.

THE WEDDING 💍

We held an intimate 85 pax wedding with our closest family and friends. The vibes were immaculate and super chill. Starting from 10am, we had an Acai counter for our guests to enjoy while waiting for the solemnisation to begin, it was a special time for everyone to mingle with drinks and breakfast. And luckily we had this, because it was drizzling! But thank goodness, the weather was on our side, as an actual peacock flew past and it was like magic, the rain stopped for us to have our solemnisation outdoors with our beautifully designed floral display. My dress got totally muddy but good thing I brought a backup dress to change into.

Other than a few hiccups with the AV system, the event went smoothly and we really enjoyed our time with family and friends. Our wedding really felt like a casual house party - no speeches, no games, just catching up and enjoying good food and drinks. We also managed to skip out on many of the traditional activities and just had a tea ceremony for the elders at the end.

THE VENUE 💒

1-Flowerhill was a great choice for us as we wanted a casual wedding where our guests could feel comfortable in a beautiful space. The architecture itself was perfect for the vibe we were going for, it was just missing a string quartet 🤣 and the 2nd floor space we took up was just intimate for us to feel like everyone was involved in the moment.

However, the venue coordinator could probably improve their services. Their attitude towards the overall planning and actual day coordination was careless and pretty passive. That being said, I must really commend the restaurant wait staff, they were extremely responsive, ever helpful and had a great attitude throughout the event 👏

THE AFTER PARTY 🎈

Right after the wedding, which ended at 2.30pm, we headed over to +twelve beach club with 15 close friends and family where we booked a large cabana with a private pool. The vibes were so good, partly because we were all super tipsy. But totally recommend the private cabanas at +twelve. They were such a great way to have a private time with your loved ones while soaking in the sun and lounging in the pool.

Thanks for reading my little wedding recap🤭

More to come! XOXO

... Read morePlanning an intimate wedding on a 30k budget offers a unique opportunity to focus on meaningful details without the overwhelming stress of traditional large events. One key tip I learned is to prioritize vendors who truly understand your vision, as their attitude and responsiveness can make or break your experience. For instance, while our venue coordinator was less engaged, the restaurant wait staff’s exceptional service really lifted the day. When budgeting, consider the atmosphere you want to create — we aimed for a casual, house-party feel with no speeches or games, just good food, drinks, and quality time with loved ones. Adding unique touches like an acai counter for breakfast and a private poolside cabana for the after party enhanced the experience without inflating costs excessively. Don’t overlook backup plans! Our ceremony took place outdoors during a light drizzle — my dress got muddy, but thankfully I brought a backup to change into. Such preparedness can preserve your enjoyment throughout the day. If you’re exploring options for your solemnizer or vendors, researching individuals like Tang Wing Fai, who was our solemnizer, or local favorites such as Far East Flora for decor and The Summer Acai for refreshments can bring both personalization and value. Also, DIY projects — like making your own flower bouquet — saved us about $90 with fun results. Finally, an intimate wedding allows deeper connection with guests and more relaxed pacing. We simplified traditions, only including a tea ceremony for elders, which kept the day vibe comfortable and genuine. If you’re balancing budget and heart, this approach might be exactly what you need to create a truly special celebration.

hello! we’re considering going with 1flowerhill for our wedding too, was wondering if you managed to negotiate or add in any perks for the package they offered you or do they stick strictly to the offered package?
