Fasting cleared my dermatitis

After I was told it was chronic with no specific trigger, and only topical treatments. I still eat the same - 85% clean and 15% cakes and coffee.

Fasting is my go to for any health concern. I’ll always try to fast it away first.

... Read moreChronic dermatitis can be a frustrating condition to manage, especially when conventional treatments such as topical creams offer limited relief. Many people turn to alternative approaches, and fasting has emerged as a promising method for some individuals seeking natural healing. Fasting, which involves abstaining from food for a set period, may help reduce inflammation and support the body's detoxification processes, potentially leading to clearer skin. One of the reasons fasting might be beneficial for dermatitis is its ability to decrease systemic inflammation—a key factor in many skin conditions. By giving the digestive system a break, fasting allows the body to redirect energy towards healing and repair. In addition, fasting can positively influence gut health, which is closely linked to skin health due to the gut-skin axis. It is important to note that maintaining a mostly clean diet, as described with an 85% clean and 15% indulgent balance, can play a vital role in overall skin wellness. Foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals support the skin's natural barrier and repair mechanisms. Meanwhile, occasional treats like cakes and coffee can be enjoyed without dismissing the benefits of a primarily nutrient-dense diet. For those considering fasting for skin issues like dermatitis, gradual introduction and medical consultation are crucial. Different fasting methods exist, such as intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating, or longer water fasts, each with unique effects and suitability depending on individual health status. Combining fasting with mindful nutrition and lifestyle choices can lead to sustainable improvements in chronic skin conditions. Ultimately, fasting represents a holistic approach that respects the body's innate ability to heal. While it may not be a universal solution, for many it serves as an empowering first step towards reclaiming skin health and overall well-being.
