Part 4 I Built Minecraft's Largest Nether Portal #toan #luigi #strengthsmp #minecraft #travel
Hey everyone! I've been seeing a lot of buzz around building massive structures in Minecraft, especially with all the discussions about grand Nether Portals. It got me thinking about one of the most crucial obsidian builds in Hypixel Skyblock: the Obsidian Sanctuary. If you're into grinding combat XP or farming specific drops, this is a game-changer! What exactly is an Obsidian Sanctuary in Hypixel Skyblock? It's essentially a meticulously designed area, typically made primarily of Obsidian blocks, where specific mobs (like Obsidian Defenders) can spawn at a high rate. The goal? To efficiently farm them for combat experience, valuable collections, and sometimes even unique items. While my main build was a giant Nether Portal, the principles of efficient block placement and resource gathering are very similar when constructing a Sanctuary. You'll need tons of Obsidian, so think about your mining setup – perhaps a good pickaxe and Speed II potions are a must! Building your own Sanctuary can drastically improve your Skyblock progression. These mobs often drop valuable items for the Obsidian collection, which can unlock powerful recipes. Plus, the combat XP is fantastic for leveling up your combat skill, which in turn boosts your damage. I remember the first time I set out to build mine, thinking it would be just a simple room. Boy, was I wrong! It's all about creating the perfect environment for mob spawning. When you're planning your Sanctuary, consider the dimensions carefully. You want enough space for mobs to spawn, but not so much that they spread out too thin. Many players use specific block patterns to maximize spawn rates. And speaking of efficiency, don't forget your gear! While the OCR mentioned "Metherite armor of" which is cool, in Hypixel Skyblock, you'd be looking at strong combat sets to take down these defenders quickly. Having a good weapon and enchantments is key. Another practical tip I learned is to have an Ender Chest or Shulker Box nearby. You'll be picking up so many drops that your inventory will fill up fast! Being able to quickly stash your loot and continue grinding without constantly returning to your island saves a lot of time. And speaking of saving time, make sure you have a good system for getting around your Sanctuary. Some people use Piston mechanisms or even Elutra (if applicable in that specific area of Skyblock) for quick traversal. Don't forget your Flint and Steel though, just in case you need to relight a portal or a specific mob-spawning trigger! One challenge I faced was ensuring that only the desired mobs spawned. You might need to light up surrounding areas or use specific block types to prevent other mobs from interfering. It's a bit of trial and error, but totally worth it. The satisfaction of seeing a perfectly functioning Obsidian Sanctuary churning out XP and drops is immense. Just like building a massive Nether Portal, it requires dedication and a good understanding of game mechanics. So, if you're looking for your next big project in Hypixel Skyblock, an Obsidian Sanctuary is definitely something to consider!
