Jesus, gave this strict, foundation to all, because what is needed to strengthen the World can be costly, it was fortified by Jesus and cost Jesus His life with suffering!!! But there is nothing more than following and obeying Jesus, the comfort and peace that will accompany our Jesus will be sheer beautiful!!! This will all be realized in the Second Coming, what a marvelous, life being renewed daily in love, of God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit continual joy and respect, no more dying, no more sickness, no arguing, only LOVE!!!
LUKE 14:25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. 28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? 29 For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, 30 saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’ 31 “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 33 In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples. 34 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
“Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

Read moreFollowing Jesus is described in Luke 14 as a commitment that requires deep personal sacrifice and a willingness to prioritize faith above all else, including family and even one's own life. The passage emphasizes estimating the cost of discipleship before beginning the journey, much like planning to build a tower or preparing for war, which underscores the serious and deliberate commitment Jesus expects from His followers.
The phrase "Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple" highlights the readiness required to endure challenges, trials, and even suffering as part of living a faithful Christian life. Carrying the cross is often understood symbolically as bearing personal burdens and sacrifices for the sake of following Jesus’ example and teachings.
Salt metaphor in this chapter reminds believers of the importance of maintaining their spiritual 'saltiness'—their influence and commitment to the faith—otherwise, they become ineffective and lose their purpose.
Living for Jesus involves continual renewal through love and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, promising comfort, peace, and joy even amidst difficulties. The ultimate hope for those who follow faithfully is realized in the Second Coming, when suffering, sickness, and death will be no more, replaced by eternal life in perfect love and harmony.
This teaching invites believers to reflect honestly on their spiritual journey, discern their readiness to commit fully, and embrace the transformative power of discipleship that reshapes life priorities and strengthens character. It encourages daily renewal in faith and love as rooted in the Holy Trinity—God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit—as the source of ongoing joy and respect.
In practical terms, discipleship modeled in Luke 14 means choosing Christ daily, accepting the costs, and remembering that following Jesus leads to unparalleled peace and eternal reward beyond worldly challenges.
