C-section??

Part 2:

Recovery: My recovery was fast! I was so anxious. I was in my room alone my boyfriend left with the babies. I told him your job is to make sure the babies are okay. I made it clear to him to leave me alone to follow the doctors nurses with the babies. Due to me being alone, anxious & nervous. My blood pressure was high. My hires bless her soul she really wanted me to rest to sleep but I couldn’t. She came every 5min to tell me to rest to sleep.

My boyfriend came back to my room after maybe 30-45min. Good news! Both babies were healthy but very small. Doctor’s were happy that (twin a) small baby cry, breath, and moved. Twin a was 3lbs and Twin b was 5lbs. Twin a did have some complications he was out on oxygen. He’s oxygen levels were a little lower then what doctors wanted.

Complications: (Me)

None. My nurse was very nice she told me to take my time. She told me it was gonna take me a while to get up, walk & use the restroom. Funny enough i told her I need to use the restroom keep in mind at this time I was about 10am my c-section was 7am. Both my babies were born at 8:20 & 8:21. Once my boyfriend came back I told my nurse I need to use the restroom she explain help and guide me on how. My boyfriend was my support to get up. She told me to wait a couple of hours to get up and use the restroom.

My stubbornness:

My nurse told me that the feeling of me wanting to go the restroom could be the anesthesia. My boyfriend help me use the restroom. I actually went! The nurse was very happy that I use the restroom taking a pee was a huge step. I was able to clean myself on my own. I didn’t ask for help to get up. I was allow by my nurse to walk a a bit in my room. The head nurse wasn’t happy that I was walking and uso the restroom that soon after surgery. I control my blood pressure. Which made the nurses happy. I wanted to do everything on my own. I wanted to be allowed to see my kids so I wanted to be ready.

Rest:

My babies doctors came in to talk to me and personally update me. Hearing and knowing that my babies were doing good both free from danger. Made me happy. I was able to rest for a couple of hours. I wanted to see my babies but, for me personally anesthesia make me super hungry, sleep & itchy. Therefore, I ate (delicious food) took a nap & ask for ice pack.

Part 3: (Scar, itchiness, goal)

... Read moreC-sections can be both a miraculous and daunting experience. In this continuation of my birth story, I discuss my recovery process, which surprisingly went quickly despite my initial anxiety. The emotional rollercoaster started from the delivery room, where I anxiously awaited updates about my newborn twins. Many mothers undergo similar emotional and physical hurdles after a C-section, including managing pain and emotional well-being. It's essential to share support systems during recovery, such as the role of caregivers and healthcare professionals in assisting new mothers. Following a C-section, each mother’s experience can vary significantly, influenced by factors like the baby's health, personal health conditions, and recovery time. My initial struggle involved managing pain from anesthesia while trying to meet the basic needs of mobility, primarily needing to use the bathroom after surgery. This step seemed monumental at the time, emphasizing the importance of patience and self-care during post-operative recovery. Additionally, the experience of having twins added another layer of complexity and joy to my recovery. Many mothers find solace in sharing similar experiences, and online forums or communities can provide invaluable support. Engaging with other new parents can offer tips and emotional affirmation as you navigate through the early days of motherhood. As I reflect on this period, I recognize the importance of sharing these stories to empower other mothers, help normalize the recovery journey, and build a community of support. Remember, asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, in this challenging yet rewarding phase of life.
