- Designer: There are many outstanding architects, such as Robert Adam (18th century), Anthony Salvin and Luigi Cantina (mid-19th century Italian Renaissance style interior design).
- Purpose Constructed: Was built as a fortress against invasion from Scotland, and controlled a strategic area in northern England, later developed into the residence of the Percy family and became one of England's most historically significant castles.
- Number of rooms: There are more than 150 rooms, but only 6 main public rooms in the State Rooms section (Library, Drawing Room, Dining Room, China Gallery, Guard Chambers)
- Total area: It is approximately 42 acres (or approximately 0.17 square kilometres).

🥬 The focus of this place:
- Built by Baron of Alnwick, later in 1309, it was bought by Henry de Percy, a family of the Duke of Northumberland.
- Currently, the Percy family has held the family home since 1309 until now (12th Duke of Northumberland, Ralph Percy occupied).
- The second largest castle still with UK residents (after Windsor Castle).
- The Library has a collection of over 14,000-16,000 books.
- Used to film Hogwarts scenes in Harry Potter, Parts 1-2.
There's a "broomstick training" program for visitors to try out as a wizard / witch based in a Harry Potter movie, too.

เผื่อใครกำลังหา “ปราสาทอังกฤษ” ที่เดินทางไปได้แบบวันเดียวและมีความเป็น Harry Potter แบบจับต้องได้ เราอยากบอกว่า Alnwick Castle (หลายคนพิมพ์หาเป็น alnwickcastle หรือ castello di alnwick) เป็นหนึ่งในตัวเลือกที่ไปแล้วคุ้มมากจริงๆ เพราะไม่ได้มีแค่กำแพงหินสวยๆ แต่ข้างในหรูหราและมีกิจกรรมให้ทำด้วย สิ่งที่เราชอบที่สุดคือบรรยากาศด้านนอกปราสาท—ตัวปราสาทหินตั้งบนเนินหญ้าเขียวๆ ถ้าวันฟ้าเปิดจะได้ท้องฟ้าสีครามตัดกับหินสีอ่อน ถ่ายรูปมุมกว้างออกมาดูอลังการมาก แนะนำให้เผื่อเวลาถ่ายรูปด้านหน้าและเดินหามุมที่เห็นธงบนยอดปราสาทด้วย มันให้ฟีล “ปราสาทอังกฤษ” ในฝันแบบที่หลายคนอยากได้เลย ด้านใน State Rooms ถึงจะเปิดให้ชมไม่กี่ห้อง แต่แต่ละห้องรายละเอียดแน่นมาก โดยเฉพาะห้องรับรองที่ตกแต่งโทนแดง-ทอง เพดานแกะสลัก และโคมระย้าคริสตัล ดูหรูแบบผู้ดีอังกฤษสุดๆ อีกห้องที่ประทับใจคือ Dining Room ผนังสีเขียวเข้มกับโต๊ะยาวที่จัดไว้เนี้ยบๆ เหมือนหลุดไปในฉากหนัง ส่วน Library ก็เป็นไฮไลต์สำหรับสายอ่านหนังสือและสายถ่ายรูป—ชั้นหนังสือสูงจรดเพดาน ให้บรรยากาศคลาสสิกและอบอุ่นมาก ถ้ามาเพราะ Harry Potter อย่าพลาดกิจกรรม broomstick training ที่สนามหญ้าหน้าปราสาท อันนี้สนุกกว่าที่คิด แม้ไม่เคยเล่นมาก่อนก็ทำได้ เค้าจะมีสอนท่าถือไม้กวาด/การโพสท่าให้ได้ฟีลพ่อมดแม่มด ถ้าอยากได้รูปสวยๆ แนะนำใส่เสื้อคลุมสีเข้มหรือโทนเรียบ จะเข้ากับบรรยากาศสุดๆ ทิปส์เล็กๆ จากประสบการณ์เรา: ไปช่วงเช้าๆ จะคนยังไม่แน่น เดินดูห้องต่างๆ ได้สบายและถ่ายรูปง่ายกว่า ใครอยากเก็บทั้งบรรยากาศนอกปราสาทและด้านในแบบไม่รีบ แนะนำเผื่ออย่างน้อยครึ่งวัน และเช็กเวลารอบกิจกรรม/ทัวร์หน้างานอีกที จะได้จัดลำดับเดินให้คุ้มที่สุดค่ะ
