Did ‘Whatever It Takes’ Miss Its Chance?

Just watched early clips of Degrassi: Whatever It Takes and… mixed feelings.

The nostalgia is real, seeing behind-the-scenes from the classic Degrassi eras brings back a lot. But there’s also a strong vibe that the documentary plays it safe more often than not. Some major OG cast members are missing, and people are calling out how the show touched on serious issues like tokenization, racial representation, & treatment of longtime actors but maybe didn’t dig deep enough.

Also, I feel like Linda was being cast in an awkward light, even a lawsuit drama, which seems to underscore that there was more tension than the doc shows clearly.

I am curious , do fans want just nostalgia, or do they expect the documentary to be a real reckoning with flaws & controversies? What does Degrassi owe its OG cast and its fans? What do you think?
