Dog Mom 🫶
In this moment, my husband went to get something from the car, and these three kiddos were on mode "Protect"
As a dog mom, I can totally relate to those intense moments when your dogs switch into 'protect' mode. It’s always a bit surprising yet heartwarming to see how alert and watchful they become, especially when a family member is temporarily away—even if it’s just a quick trip to the car. Dogs have an amazing instinct to guard their home and loved ones, showing their loyalty in very tangible ways. One thing I’ve noticed is that my dogs’ protective behavior sometimes varies depending on who leaves and how familiar they are with the situation. For example, when my spouse leaves, my pups become a little more vigilant, as they know he’s part of their pack and want to keep him safe. It’s almost like they’re standing guard on their own little watchtower. I also appreciated the OCR note, "You love the water, but your dog is not crazy about it." That’s so true in many dog families, myself included! While I enjoy outdoor activities by the water, some of my dogs prefer to stay dry and watch from a distance. It’s fascinating how their protective instincts can kick in regardless of their personal likes and dislikes, showing that their priority is always family safety. If you’re a dog parent, you’ve probably experienced these protective moments firsthand. It’s part of what makes the bond with our dogs so special—they become not just pets but devoted guardians and companions. Sharing these moments brings us closer and gives us a glimpse of their world, where love and protection go hand in hand.
