I stopped using Minoxidil. Here’s why
My edges aren’t severely bad and before I commit to harsher ingredients I want to indulge in organic oils first. So, let’s see how it goes. I’ll give you an update soon.
In my experience with Minoxidil, I found that while it can stimulate hair growth, it often comes with side effects such as scalp irritation and dryness. This motivated me to seek a more gentle and natural alternative for maintaining my edges. Using organic oils blends, especially those focused on healing and nourishment, felt like a nurturing approach. I’ve been experimenting with different ratios of oils like castor, jojoba, and rosemary, which are widely praised for their ability to promote healthy hair follicles and improve scalp condition. Consistency is key when switching to organic oils. From my personal journey, applying these oils regularly, ideally after washing the hair and before bed, helps keep the edges moisturized and reduces breakage. One challenge I faced initially was finding the right mix and quantity that suits my scalp without causing heaviness or greasiness. Furthermore, I'm tracking my progress carefully and staying patient because organic treatments often require more time to show visible results compared to chemical-based options. I also maintain a balanced hair care routine that includes gentle cleansing and minimal heat styling to support this healing process. If you’re considering discontinuing Minoxidil, I recommend consulting a dermatologist about your hair health and trying natural oils as a first step, especially if your hair loss isn’t severe. This approach can be less aggressive and might work well for maintaining hair density and edge strength. I’ll be updating my progress, and hopefully, sharing insights that can help others on similar hair journeys.
