Why I Stopped Using Regular Toothpaste 🪥🦷

I Make My Own

A few years ago, I started questioning everything I put on and in my body — including my toothpaste.

Here’s why I made the switch:

• Wanted to avoid fluoride and harsh chemicals

• Most commercial toothpastes have artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives

• I noticed sensitivity and irritation from regular brands

• I wanted something simple, natural, and effective

• I realized healthy teeth start with mineral support, not chemicals

Now, I make my own with:

• Baking soda (gentle cleanser)

• Coconut oil (antibacterial)

• Peppermint essential oil (freshness!)

• Sometimes a little bentonite clay (for detox support)

My teeth feel cleaner, less sensitive, and honestly, my breath feels fresher too!

Simple, natural swaps make such a difference.

... Read moreIn recent years, many individuals have become more health-conscious, evaluating the ingredients in everyday products like toothpaste. Switching to DIY toothpaste can reduce exposure to fluoride and artificial additives commonly found in commercial brands. Homemade toothpaste recipes often include natural ingredients such as baking soda, which acts as a gentle abrasive to remove plaque without damaging enamel, and coconut oil, known for its antibacterial properties that can help reduce harmful bacteria in the mouth. Moreover, the choice of peppermint essential oil not only enhances flavor but also provides a refreshing breath. Bentonite clay, an additional ingredient, offers detox support and can help combat oral health issues by absorbing toxins. Transitioning to DIY oral care promotes a healthier lifestyle and aligns with a growing trend toward chemical-free living. As awareness increases, more people are seeking natural wellness solutions that not only improve their health but also simplify their personal care routines. By making informed choices about our dental products, we can contribute to better overall health while enjoying the benefits of natural alternatives.
