There's a big rumor from the Apple side.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that Apple was ambushing a special edition iPhone celebrating its 20th anniversary, with the company internally calling the project Glasswing, named after a glass-winged butterfly with clear wings.
The design is that the curved glass edges blend into the four sides of the screen. It looks all the same, seamless, and interestingly, Apple designed the Liquid Glass interface to support this particular hardware, allowing software to swallow the glass-oriented body.
The most buzz is that the iPhone 20 may not have a real keypad. This information comes from Instant Digital, a Chinese discloser on Weibo, who says that Apple's solid-state button plan has been successfully tested. Prepare for production in 2027.
The power button, the sound button, the Action button and the Camera Control button will all switch to solid-state. Use a specific vibration to simulate the feeling of pressing the button instead.
Apple may also start to change since the iPhone 18, with the Camera Control button being simplified, cutting off the capacitive sensing layer, leaving only the pressure handle.
To tell you, Ming-Chi Kuo once reported that Apple tried to put a solid-state button in the iPhone 15 Pro, but stuck to technical and manufacturing problems, so he folded. If this cycle solves the problem, the iPhone 20 may be the first model without a button.
