Nervous System Support
Anxiety is a human experience — not an identity.
Instead of labeling myself as “anxious,”
I focus on regulating my nervous system.
What helps me:
• walking + time in nature (huge)
• breathwork or meditation
• calming music
• movement (dance, shaking)
• teas: ashwagandha, tulsi, blue pea
If I need more support:
• EFT tapping
• journaling
• calming herbal extracts like kava
The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety.
It’s to support the body when it shows up. 🤍

Managing anxiety through nervous system support is a deeply personal journey that involves tuning into your body and emotions with compassion. I've found that understanding and naming the emotions I experience—from curiosity to overwhelming stress—helps me feel more in control rather than overwhelmed. Slowing down to take this emotional inventory is often the first step I take when I notice anxious feelings creeping in. In addition to the main methods mentioned like walking in nature and breathwork, I emphasize the importance of gentle physical movement such as dancing or shaking to help release nervous tension. These movements re-engage the body’s natural reset mechanisms, which is incredibly grounding. The use of herbal teas such as ashwagandha, tulsi, and blue pea offered not just a calming effect, but also a sense of ritual that gives me a moment of peace in my busy day. When my anxiety feels more pronounced, incorporating calming herbal extracts like kava and tapping techniques from EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) offer a tangible way to address intense feelings and re-center myself. Journaling has been another powerful tool—exploring questions about my default emotional responses in conflict, fears in others, and recurring feelings from childhood allows me to uncover patterns that contribute to my anxiety. This self-reflective practice helps me let go of old judgments or mentalities that do not serve me. Remember, the goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety altogether, but to support your body and mind when it arises. Approaching anxiety as a temporary state rather than an identity empowers you to respond with kindness and proactive care. Over time, creating these holistic habits can significantly ease the nervous system's reactivity and improve overall emotional resilience.
