Viewing a Sea Turtle Release 🐢
This summer, we went down to the Corpus Christi area and got to watch a sea turtle release!
On Padre Island there is a group that works to protect the sea turtles in the area. They monitor the population, rescue injured turtles, amongst many other things.
One of the big tasks they do is collect and nurture the eggs before safely releasing the turtles back into the ocean.
A few times each summer, visitors can watch the baby turtles be released into the water.
It was so cool to see the turtles waddle across the sand and into the waves. They are so tiny!
