i get all of my groceries at h-e-b! (texan equivalent to kroger, i think) it’s cheaper than walmart or target, and i borrow ingredients from my neighbors, if i run out of butter or rice or something. these ingredients can also make breakfast tacos and different types of sandwiches, and with some pasta the opportunities are endless!! i can make multiple different meals, and although they aren’t the healthiest, these are all quick, cheap meals. i also use coupons and deals i find online. i find all of the recipes i’ve used on lemon8 or pinterest. bye yall!!

However, with some creativity and planning, you can whip up affordable meals that are both satisfying and tasty. Consider incorporating ingredients like rice, beans, and various proteins, which can be stretched across multiple meals.
Tortillas, for instance, can be used not just for tacos but also for quesadillas and wraps. Eggs are versatile for breakfast or quick fried rice dishes. On the protein side, consider rotating between inexpensive options like canned tuna or spam to keep your meal choices interesting.
Don’t forget about seasonings! Using spices can elevate cheap ingredients into delicious dishes, so keep a well-stocked spice cabinet. Furthermore, explore using frozen vegetables; they are often cheaper and can add nutrition to your meals without spoiling quickly.
Utilizing apps or websites that offer coupons is also a savvy way to save. Many grocery stores have loyalty programs that provide discounts or special deals for members. Additionally, borrowing ingredients from friends or roommates can be a great way to save and share cost-effective meals together.
Finally, don't overlook meal prep as a strategy. Spending a bit of time on the weekend to prepare meals can not only save you time during the busy week but also cut down on costs by minimizing impulse food purchases.
