Healthy & yummy kid approved POPSICLES! Part 2

I’m back with another homemade summer treat: watermelon popsicles! They’re healthy, hydrating, and easy to make which makes them the perfect snack to make up for your kiddos this spring/fall! Recipe below!

For 16 tube popsicles:

- 1/2 of a watermelon

- 10 mL PURE honey

- 2-3 tsp PURE vanilla extract (not imitation)

Cut the watermelon into pieces and put in a blender. Add the honey and vanilla and then blend on the liquify setting until all of the chunks are gone. Place a mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the liquid into the strainer, let all of the juice go into the bowl. This removes any pieces of seed from the juice before you put the juice into your popsicle tubes or molds.

Once strained, fill your BPA disposable popsicle tubes or silicon popsicle molds and then freeze for 10-12 hours or until frozen solid. Enjoy!!

Let me know if you use this recipe or if you have your own recipe and make healthy popsicles for your kiddos this summer! ☀️🍉

... Read moreMaking your own popsicles at home can be a delightful way to provide nutritious snacks that are free from artificial colors and additives. Watermelon, being naturally sweet and hydrating due to its high water content, serves as an excellent base for these healthy popsicles. Adding pure honey enhances the natural sweetness without relying on refined sugars, while a touch of pure vanilla extract adds depth to the flavor. When preparing the watermelon, be sure to remove any seeds by using a mesh strainer after blending the fruit. This step ensures a smooth and enjoyable texture for your popsicles. Using BPA-free disposable popsicle tubes or silicone molds is a safe and eco-friendly way to freeze your treats. I’ve found that letting the popsicles freeze for 10-12 hours guarantees they become solid yet easy to pop out of the mold. These popsicles are not only refreshing but also provide vitamins and antioxidants from the watermelon, which is great for boosting kids’ immune systems during warmer months. In addition, experimenting with other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, or mango can offer variety while keeping your popsicles healthy. For a creamy twist, you can blend in a bit of Greek yogurt or coconut milk. Sharing these homemade popsicles with kids can be a fun activity and helps encourage them to enjoy wholesome snacks they helped create.
