Hey everyone! So, when I first started dabbling with video editing on my phone, Alight Motion was a total game-changer, but also a bit intimidating. I remember spending ages trying to figure out the simplest things, like how to get those cool stickers everyone was using, or just perfectly cropping an image without losing quality. It felt like everyone else knew some secret trick! After a lot of trial and error (and maybe a few frustrated sighs!), I finally got the hang of it, and now I want to share my go-to methods with you. Trust me, once you know these steps, you'll be adding flair to your edits in no time. Adding Awesome Stickers in Alight Motion Adding stickers is one of my favorite ways to personalize an edit and add some personality. Here’s my simple workflow: Open Your Project: Start by selecting the project you want to work on in Alight Motion. Tap the Plus Icon: This is your best friend for adding new elements. You'll find it at the bottom right of your screen. Choose 'Element' or 'Image & Video': Depending on whether you're using Alight Motion's built-in elements or want to import a custom sticker image (like a PNG with a transparent background), you'll go here. For pre-made stickers, look under 'Element' and browse the categories. For custom ones, select 'Image & Video' and pick from your gallery. Position and Resize: Once your sticker is in place, you can drag it around to position it. Use the 'Move & Transform' option to resize, rotate, or fine-tune its placement. I often use the two-finger pinch gesture for quick resizing – it’s super intuitive! Adjust Opacity/Blending: Sometimes a sticker looks better if it's a bit translucent. Head over to the 'Blending & Opacity' tab to adjust this. Play around with different blending modes too, like 'Screen' or 'Overlay,' to see what unique effects you can create. It really makes a difference! Cropping Images Perfectly in Alight Motion Cropping is essential for framing your subjects just right or removing unwanted background elements. Here's how I get my images cropped exactly how I want them: Select Your Layer: Tap on the image layer you want to crop in your timeline. Go to 'Move & Transform': This is where all the magic happens for positioning and sizing. Use the Crop Tool (or Masking): Alight Motion offers a few ways to crop. The simplest is often within the 'Move & Transform' section, where you can adjust the scale and position to effectively 'crop' by zooming in or moving the image within its frame. However, for more precise or custom shapes, I love using the 'Mask' feature. You can create a shape (like a rectangle, circle, or even a custom path) and then use it as a mask on your image layer. Applying a Mask: To do this, add a shape layer above your image layer. Select both layers, then tap the masking icon (it looks like intersecting squares) in the top menu. You can choose to 'Mask' (keep the shape area) or 'Invert Mask' (remove the shape area). This method gives you incredible control and allows for non-rectangular crops, which is fantastic for creative edits! Refine: After cropping or masking, you can still adjust the position of your image or the mask itself to get that perfect composition. Don't be afraid to experiment! Learning these two techniques really boosted my confidence in Alight Motion. It transformed my "scrap edits" into something I was proud to share.
