Depression😑
😑 Tired for no reason... that's not weakness, that's a disease that needs care.
Have you ever...?
Wake up and feel tired for eight hours of sleep.
I don't want to do anything I used to like. I don't know why.
Sitting in the middle of a room full of people, but feeling unspeakably alone.
If ever... this article was written for you.
🤔 What exactly is depression?
Many people understand that depression means "very sad," but it's actually more complicated.
Depression is not just an emotion, but a condition in which the brain and body malfunction, as if the body were diabetic or high pressure, but this time the sick thing is the "mind."
Imagine that in our brain, a chemical called serotonin acts like sunlight in our head. If the light darkens, everything in life looks bad, not because we don't know how to fight, but because "the body system is crashing."
🤔 Why is it? No one can choose.
The cause of depression comes not just from "thinking too much," but from many ways.
👉 the body.
Unbalanced brain chemicals, genetics, even variable hormones can all detonate, some people are genetically likely, just waiting for a situation where the trigger pulls.
👉 mentally.
People who have been through childhood trauma, neglect, long-depressed, have lost something important, or have accumulated stress quietly for years, this group is more vulnerable than others.
Social 👉
Loneliness, family pressure, being compared, being in an unsafe environment, or even being unlistened to, these things gradually bite into the same thing.
No one who "chooses" will be depressed.
It happens like no one chooses to get cancer.
☝️ symptoms that may not know that are depression.
Some people do not realize that they are sick because they do not come in the form they think.
☑️ get up early and feel like I don't want a new day.
☑️. Cooking your favorite food, can't eat or eat a lot.
☑️ can't sleep all night or sleep all day but still tired.
☑️ feel worthless, even though those around you say it's great.
☑️ the brain is slow. I can't think of anything. It's hard to decide anything.
☑️ cry without knowing the reason or can't cry even if you want to cry.
☑️ felt, "If you disappear from this world, no one will regret it."
❗ that last sentence, if anyone feels this way, know that someone always wants to listen to you.
❌ a misunderstanding that has been hurting sick people for so long.
❗ "Just be positive so you won't be."
❗ "Other people are much more difficult than not yet."
❗ "Too weak. Can you be strong?"
If you've ever heard these sentences or spoken to yourself like this, stop.
☝️ depression is not a matter of "strength." Telling a depressed person to be "positive" is like telling a broken leg to "try to walk." It doesn't help but hurt more.
Many depressed people are "very strong" people because they have to carry this kind of feeling every day without anyone knowing.
👉 start taking care of yourself from here.
You don't have to start with anything big.
✅ the most important first step is to admit that it's not okay.
Don't pretend to be fine. That acceptance isn't a failure. It's the beginning of a hiatus.
✅ speak to someone who can be trusted.
Don't tell me everything. Just say, "It's not okay right now."
✅ see a psychiatrist or psychologist.
It's not an embarrassment, just like going to a doctor with a fever, and the body needs a doctor, and the mind is sick, and in Thailand, there is now a 1323 mental health hotline, no charge.
✅ take care of the body.
Get enough sleep. Go out and get some sunshine. Eat even if you're not hungry. Body and mind are connected.
✅ don't fight alone.
You don't have to carry everything alone.
👉, before you leave, let's be honest.
Recovery from depression didn't happen in one night.
And maybe not smooth all the way. Some days get better. Some days go backwards.
But that doesn't mean you're failing.
It means you're fighting, and the fight doesn't look like it did in the movie. Maybe it just means "I woke up today." That's enough.
If you read here, whether you are facing yourself or you want to understand your loved ones, know that your understanding is more powerful than you think.
Because sometimes what depressed people want most is not the answer, but the person who "listens" without judgment.
If this article speaks for you or someone you know, you can pass it on to him, maybe just knowing that "I'm not alone" can change everything.
